Our dental patients feel so much happier and better about themselves when they enhance the brightness of their smile with professional teeth whitening. Improving your smile and increasing your confidence can open a lot of doors, helping you nail that job interview or feel confident for a wedding or photoshoot.
In-office cleaning is an efficient and fast way to achieve dramatically whiter teeth for special events. At-home whitening offers a more convenient method of whitening that doesn't even require you to leave your home!
Getting your teeth whitened professionally is safer and less likely to irritate your teeth and gums than over-the-counter alternatives. It is also a very cost-effective cosmetic treatment. Teeth whitening is a more affordable alternative to veneers and take-home whitening is a more affordable option compared to in-office whitening.
If you have opted for the at-home whitening process, you will come into 1385 Dental Studio for an appointment to have impressions taken of your teeth. These impressions are then sent to a lab that will use them to create a mold for your removable whitening trays that perfectly fit inside your mouth.
Within a few days, you will return to the office to pick up your trays and bleaching agent. You will be given instructions on how to use the whitening trays properly and how long to wear them. This treatment will take about 2 weeks of gradual whitening to achieve the desired results.
We will first take steps to protect your cheeks and gums from the harsh bleaching agents that are used during the whitening treatment. A cheek protractor will be placed in the mouth to keep your teeth exposed and your mouth open.
Then, a protective gel will be applied to the soft tissue surrounding your teeth. This protective gel prevents the peroxide from coming into contact with your gums. A whitening gel will then be applied to each of your teeth and cured with UV light.
This process may be repeated multiple times, taking about 15 minutes in each session. The entire process usually takes about 1 hour unless you have severe discoloration which may require multiple whitening appointments.
